Brin Kinch: Bring on Anglesey

With half the season already over, we’re heading to the North-West of Wales, and I couldn’t be more exited for it! This season has been the first time I’ve ever sat in a single seater formula car, and it has been the most amazing experience of my life to date. Coming from some karting experience in my early 20’s, I had the chance to learn the basics against some of the quickest kids in Europe. But the contrast between karting and Formula Ford could not be any more different. This season, thanks to Andy and his fantastic team, I’ve been able to have first-hand experience at top-flight team racing, and throughout the 2022 season, I’ve been building on the skills I’ve developed to try and be as competitive as I can.

Anglesey presents a fantastic track on which to expand my skills and knowledge at, trying to learn from some of the quicker (and younger) guys at the front. Being able to race alongside Colin, Andre and Shawn has been pivotal to my growth as a complete rookie, being able to analyse and compare data and technique throughout testing and races. I’m very excited to take what I’ve learnt on and off the track, and apply it to the Welsh backdrop of sheep and grass. With recent additions to my car, including a new engine (thanks Dad), I’m really looking forward to how I perform this time round, and how I can perfect my techniques further.

Ammonite have been the perfect team to join as a blank slate to formula racing. They welcomed me with open arms and homemade sausage rolls, so it’s easy to see why they keep finding so much success in this formula. I’m looking forward to travelling with my teammates and hope we have a brilliant weekend.
