Max Esterson: Anglesey here we come!

Just a quick note to give you a heads-up about this weekend’s rounds 9, 10 & 11 of the Avon Tyres BRSCC British National Formula Ford Championship at Anglesey Circuit (a.k.a. Trac Môn in Welsh) – testing this Thursday & Friday, with Race 1 on Saturday and Races 2 & 3 on Sunday.

I am excited to make my first trip to Wales and looking forward to learning a new circuit. We’ll be running the full 2.1 mile (3.4km) International Circuit.  While not as famous as some other historic British tracks, Anglesey looks fun – fast with lots of up’s and down’s – and is sure to provide some fantastic images with dramatic views of the Irish Sea in the background.

Given how well we ran in the wet at Silverstone, I find myself in the odd position of secretly hoping for rain.  Either way thought, rain or shine, I think we’ll have good pace and will work hard Thursday and Friday to come up to speed with those veterans who have been to the circuit before.  Although this is my first time heading to a weekend in the lead of the championship, my approach of making the most of what we have has remained the same and I hope to keep gaining valuable points as we hit the half-way point of the season.
