Max Esterson joins LDR 2021 line up
Low Dempsey Racing is pleased to announce that 18-year-old American driver, Max Esterson, will be joining the team for the 2021 BRSCC Avon Tyres National Formula Ford Championship along with other select events. Esterson made his debut with LDR at the 2020 Formula Ford Festival as well as the Walter Hayes Trophy, finishing 6th and 14th respectively.
“I can’t wait to start working with Low Dempsey Racing for the 2021 season! I’m sure racing Formula Fords in the UK will be a blast as well as a great learning experience between the variable conditions, great competition, and new tracks to learn. I was quickly impressed by everyone at LDR during my short time with them last year. Having four cars inside the top ten at the Festival is no easy feat and is proof of their preparation and expertise, so I’m confident we’ll continue our progress and hopefully fight for the title.”

Max got his start in racing when he was ten years old by using the iRacing simulation platform. By 2018 he was racing in one of iRacing’s world championship series, competing against the best. Since then, he has become ranked inside the top five of iRacers in the US and top 50 around the globe. He competed in his first karting championship at his local track in New York in 2019, and then proceeded to test a F1600 car with US-based Team Pelfrey later that year. The test opened up the opportunity to compete in the 2020 F1600 Championship Series, where the rookie, in the five weekends he participated in, was on pole three times, had six fastest race laps, six podiums, and a race win.
“I haven’t raced since the Walter Hayes at the end of October, so I’ve definitely got the itch to get going again. I’ve spent a lot of time on the sim this winter learning unfamiliar tracks and running in some big iRacing events, but I’m ready for the real thing,” Esterson added.
The 2021 season is scheduled to kick off at Snetterton on April 10. Along with Snetterton, BRSCC National series is set to visit Donnington, Silverstone, Anglesey, Brands Hatch, and Oulton Park, with the season culminating at Snetterton once again in early October.
