Team USA Scholarship winner Elliott Budzinski joins Ammonite Motorsport for the 2023 season
Ammonite Motorsport is thrilled to announce that one of the 2022 Team USA Scholarship winners, Elliott Budzinski, will be joining the team for the 2023 season, joining fellow American Nolan Allaer and British driver Brin Kinch in the red and grey Formula Ford team set up.
The 20 year old Ann Arbor, MI native began racing go-karts at age 6. Winning races at the local level prompted him to move up to the national level at age 9, where he won races as a privateer in numerous regional and national series. In 2019 Elliott attended several driving schools, and placed 5th in the Lucas Oil School of Racing Scholarship Shootout. In 2022 Elliott made the step to F1600 cars driving in two race weekends with Rice Race Prep. The first was the SCCA June Sprints at Road America and the second being the FormulaRacePromotions event at Autobahn, where he displayed immediate speed with a win at both events, three P2 finishes, and two pole positions, never finishing off the podium. In 2022 Elliott was awarded one of the prestigious Team USA Scholarship places, where he competed with Ammonite Motorsport at the Formula Ford Festival, and the Walter Hayes Trophy.
Elliott said, “I’m very excited to begin a partnership with Ammonite Motorsport. Moving over to England is a big change in my life and having the support from the whole team is a big confidence booster going into the season. Obviously there is some history with the guys from doing last year's Formula Ford Festival and Walter Hayes Trophy representing the Team USA Scholarship program, and it’s going to be nice to continue the progress we made at the end of last year. I can’t wait to get testing started.”
Andy Low, Team Owner at Ammonite Motorsport added, “We’re so excited to be welcoming Elliott back for the season. He’s a great guy to be around and is very naturally talented when it comes to racing, so I’m really looking forward to getting him out on track.”
